About the Speed Review lesson
This review checks whether the speed you built in the previous lessons survives contact with mixed content. Speed that only appears on easy text is not speed you can rely on when writing. There are no new keys — just 3 drills mixing what you already know, so you find out which reaches are still slow. Once you can finish all 3 drills above 95% accuracy, move on to Emails and Messages.
How to get the most from Speed Review
- Do not aim for a personal best here. Aim for a clean run with no corrections.
- Notice which keys you hesitate on — those are the lessons worth repeating before moving forward.
- Keep your fingers on the home row between reaches. Drift is what makes review drills feel harder than they are.
- If your accuracy drops below 90%, go back to the lesson that introduced the keys giving you trouble.
Where this fits
This is lesson 37 of 41 in the free FastFingers touch typing course. The next lesson is Emails and Messages. When you want to measure your speed on real text instead of drills, take a free typing test.
Frequently Asked Questions
It draws on every key taught up to this point — 0 in total — with no new keys introduced.
Nothing is failed — go back to the lesson that introduced the keys you kept missing and repeat it once. Review lessons exist to point you at the gap, not to gate progress.
97% or better is a good bar. Below 90% and the next lesson will feel much harder than it needs to, because it builds on these keys.
